Marissa Dyer is a classical soprano dedicated to building her community through music. She is a committed and diverse singer and can be heard in a variety of styles including oratorio, opera, musical theater, and choral works. She adores telling stories to make people laugh and to inspire feelings of connection and empathy. Her playful and sincere personality translate into her performing. Marissa is devoted to collaborating with other musicians and artists as well as her audience. She firmly believes audience members are co-creators in art and encourages participation in her various projects. 

 

Marissa has a Masters degree in Opera Performance from The Longy School of Music of Bard College and a Bachelors in Voice Performance from Idaho State University. She has performed with various groups including Boston Opera Collaborative, Lowell Opera House, and Old Town Actors Studio. Favorite past roles include Barbarina in The Marriage of Figaro, Monica in The Medium, Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls, and Hope Harcourt in Anything Goes. As a concert soloist, Marissa has performed in Elvis Costello’s The Juliet Letters at Longy School of Music, Monteverdi 1610 Vespers with Analog Choral, Handel’s Messiah with the Idaho Civic Symphony, and Bach’s G Minor Mass with the Portneuf Chamber Music Ensemble. 

 

Marissa is a passionate performer and teacher who enjoys sharing her love of music with others. She currently studies with Dana Lynne Varga.
